Goodwe have released one of the first solar carport systems available in the sector. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

MAKING AN INFORMED DECISSION / PERMANENT STRUCTURE

Capital-Works-Active-01-Council-Approval.png

It is worth asking your local council about regulations relating to the installation of a permanent structure. Most councils will have a requirement to obtain approval to construct prior to installing a structure that can be used on your residential or commercial land. Installing a solar carport is no different to fitting a shed, home or standard carport on your property.

We have provided the required engineering certification in the PDF section on this page along with supporting documents that will be needed for council approvals.

Should you wish, we can provide you with a reputable shed builder which can process all the pre approvals and final site sign off for you. There may be additional costs involved with possible soil testing / certifier requirements so is something to be mindful of.

FAQ: WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO CONSIDER WITH THE COST OF THE SOLAR CARPORT?

The solar carport can be installed in three ways.

OPTON 1: EXISTING SLAB

The most cost-effective method is to install on an existing concrete driveway / slab. It simply bolts to the slab like a traditional carport so is definitely the most desirable method.

OPTION 2: NEW SLAB

Should you not have a suitable concrete slab ready for the carport you will need speak with us about your options. The best way to do this would be to speak with a local concreter once we provide you with the size required for the new structure while having it ready to go on the day of installation.

OPTION 3:  CONCRETE FOOTINGS

For those wanting to reduce the cost of the installation you can opt for sourcing a local concreter to provided concrete footings as specified in the installation manual. Doing this will greatly reduce the cost of concrete and labour. Have it ready to go and our team will do the rest!
