What you need to know, is your home compliant with Australian standards?
You will need to ensure your home is up to current electrical safety standards to be eligible for the battery rebate program. As licensed electricians that are passionate about doing things the right way the first time we need to consider the following to ensure a smooth process.

Required standards that must be met for your battery addition under the new rebate program.

1. If your battery system [BESS] is going to be installed internally in a joined garage to the main dwelling you need to have a certified and interconnected fire alarm system installed including the garage where the system is installed. It must be up to code and linked either by cable or wireless connection.
​
If the shed is separate, any low-cost alarm system will be fine while not needing to be interconnected.
​
2. Your homes main switch board requires safety RCBO's on every circuit within the home. This is to ensure the house is compliant with the Australian electrical safety standards.

What does it mean for your back pocket?
The current cheaper home batteries program represents massive savings on your investment. The rebate on offer for this new program is $38.00 per STC Point accumulated and is GST free meaning you will get the full amount off of your new system. The rebate is available on systems installed from July 1st 2025 onwards.

However, should you like to start saving now we can install the system ahead of the rebate with a rebate guarantee. The system can be installed so your solar can do its job and the battery modules disabled to comply with the rebate program. Then one the program kicks off 1st July your system can be enabled to operate in full capacity.

We can also use this time to monitor your homes consumption so we can then apply the correct amount of storage based on your energy needs while taking full advantage of the rebate offer!

A battery with a capacity of 8kwh for example will have a total rebate applied of 72 STC Points based on current calculations. Thats a massive $2,664.00 rebate which will reduce a Sigenergy [for example] Battery cost down to $2,730.00 out of pocket!

The rebate will be applicable of battery systems right up to the maximum size of 50kwh storage total representing some massive savings!​​
